The 2012 KCA are taking place tonight in America tonight on Nickelodeon, and One Direction are set to make millions of teenage girls scream even louder than they have been doing recently, with a live performance of “What Makes You Beautiful”.

Katy Perry is also set to perform, with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Lautner also making appearances.

Justin Bieber is nominated for favourite male singer, with Selena Gomez nominated for favourite tv actress.

The awards are being hosted by none other than Will Smith, who incidentally holds the record for most Kid’s Choice Awards (after Spongebob of course), with 10 blimps.

Speaking recently about the event, Nial Horan said:� “Kids’ Choice is the biggest night on Nickelodeon. All the big stars are going to be there, and when we found out it was just us and Katy Perry performing, we were like, ‘Geez, this is a big deal.’”

The question that everybody is asking though, is WHO WILL GET SLIMED!

We’ve got a sneaky suspicion that it just might be ONE DIRECTION!

1D have announced they’ll be releasing two new books very soon, with unseen photos, behind-the-scenes gossip and brand new video footage!

Talking about the forthcoming books, Niall Horan said: “We’re so excited to announce that we will have a new book for 2013. We loved working on Dare to Dream and wanted it to be as personal as possible so that the fan’s could really get more of a feeling of who we are.

“We’re going to go to the same lengths for our new book and really hope to give our fans something new and special. For us, the most important thing is that our fans love and are happy with anything we put out so this is a really important release for us. We can’t wait to get working on it’ 1D x”

Their last book was the bestselling music book of the year, and with their recent smash success in the USA, publishers Harper Collins are hopeful of huge sales, with the new books charting the amazing rise to fame of each member over the last year.

Watch One Direction in the directors cut of their second UK single, “Gotta Be You” below. An oldie but a goodie.

After hitting the top spot with their debut album “Up All Night”, One Direction’s first single looks set to climb into the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10.

Sales of the track rose by 21% last week, selling 163,000 copies, its highest weekly sales to date.

The soundtrack to The Hunger Games has knocked 1D off the top spot in the album charts though, with the movie hit selling 175,000. 15-year-old UK singer Birdy features on the album.

The latest news on One Direction’s forthcoming North American tour has confirmed that Olly Murs will be one of the support acts, and Olly told BBC Breakfast: “I’m really excited about it, they’ve had an amazing impact over there. To get the ‘Brucie bonus’ and to go on tour with the boys in Northern America, is amazing.

“I look at the boys as five Justin Biebers. The girls in America and the UK are falling in love with them.”

Olly has had great success all over Europe and in some more far-reaching countries, but success in the US has currently eluded him.

He added: “I’m hoping this sixth member will get as much love over there. No-one knows me over there, no-one has a clue who I am.

“It’s a shot in the dark. I’m going to go over there and have some fun, but my home is in the UK. Hopefully fingers crossed it goes well.”

Go Olly!

One Direction are having to bring in extra security, to cope with an influx of PIGEONS at their outdoor concerts.

Flocks of our feathered-friends have been gate-crashing the gigs and causing nuisance, and to make matters worse, Niall Horan is hugely scared of them!

Niall’s had a phobia of them since he was attacked by one when he was younger, and he said: “I get really nervous if pigeons are flying around before shows. I can’t stand them after one once flew in through my bathroom window and went for me while I was having a wee. That was enough. I think pigeons target me.”

The boys were speaking with The Sun, and Harry added: “Niall’s really scared of pigeons. We have to protect him.”

Time for a call to Kevin! We’re sure he would volunteer his services and have a word with his mates.

Elsewhere, One Direction’s iCarly show has been brought forward, postponing another episode featuring Michelle Obama!

Nickelodeon said the move was to give UK fans the chance to see the show in the same week as American audiences.

The band will also be featured on iGO One Direction on Monday 16th April, at 5:30pm.

We’re quite impressed with their skills to be honest, for some reason we expected them to be rubbish! Louis seems to have some UNBELIEVABLE TEKKERS! And check out Liam’s header too.

We reckon that all the current boybands should have a big footy tournament together. Obviously there’ll be One Direction, but we could have The Wanted, JLS, Big Time Rush as well as a load of others.

One Direction and The Wanted have recently achieved success over in America, and this week Olly Murs has annnounced he’s going to have a stab at cracking the big market.

Now, ginger crooner Ed Sheeran wants a go too, with the news he’ll be releasing his album + in the US.

Harry Styles features in Ed’s first video for his current single “Drunk”, and it’s well known that the pair are good friends, regularly exchanging tweets.

Harry appears at 2 minutes 44 seconds in the first vid.

Here’s the official video for “Drunk”, which we felt we had to post as it’s so funny! (Cats are funny, right?)

Ed has been playing a few gigs in the US during the last few weeks, as well as visiting Japan too.

His first single will be “The A Team”, and his album will be released on June 30th.

He recently tweeted about a forthcoming TV appearance, saying: “Recording for the Jimmy Fallon show tomorrow, can’t wait.”

Will Ed make it big in the US? We love him here and think he’ll do very well indeed!

Just need Harry and the rest of the boys to send a few tweets of encouragement, eh

PS. Should Larry Stylinson be worried about Eddy Shyles?

One Direction have been over in America for god knows how long now, and they currently hold the top spot on the Billboard album charts, as well as being number six on the iTunes song chart.

US audiences have taken brilliantly to the boys, but some have started to think that Harry and Louis might be gay!

Speaking with a local radio station KXAS, in Dallas, Texas, Louis said: “Some people genuinely think that we’re in a relationship. I was looking at this thing the other day”

“They genuinely, seriously think that we’re in a relationship. It’s so funny!”

Directioners have christened the pair “Larry Stylinson”, and despite Louis’ girlfriend Eleanor Calder making an appearance last week, the doubters just won’t go away.

Close your eyes Directioners, because according to sources Harry Styles has fallen for an American fan. This time however, she’s more his age, unlike previous ex Caroline Flack and his apparent lust for Kim Kardashian.

A source told Now magazine:

“He saw her by the side of the stage with two girlfriends. He short her a wink and kept saying certain lines directly at her,” said Now’s ‘tour insider’. When the boys signed autographs for fans on the way out, he saw her again and went straight up to sign a CD she was holding.”

“She’s around the same age as him and has shoulder-length brown hair and huge blue eyes. They spoke briefly before Harry and the boys were ushered away by bodyguards. (We know all about that). When he got on the tour bus, he revealed that she’d given him her number. Since then they’ve been in contact and he seems smitten.”

“It’s just harmless flirting but the boys have been winding him up about it and making little jokes about him finally going for someone his own age.”

We can’t confirm (or deny) this rumour, but it looks like Harry certainy has the hots for this particular fan.

Tom Fletcher from McFly has already helped write a couple of tracks from 1D’s first album, and now he is set to pen more tunes for their next.

With the band currently ripping up records all over the place, much is expected from their sophomore effort, and the eyes and ears of the world will be firmly waiting.

Speaking with The Star, Tom said: “I haven’t been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me, we’re just waiting to see what I come up with.”

When Tom looks at One Direction now he can see the same hunger and vigour from McFly’s early days, and he added: “Some songwriters have never been in a band, but the One Direction guys can relate to me, as I’ve been through the same kind of experiences as they have.

“When I’ve been in the studio with them, the manic atmosphere was just the same as when we made our debut.”

Danny Jones is also a big fan of the band, and though McFly never really achieved success over in the big pond, he said: “They have earned it, and What Makes You Beautiful is one of the best pop songs of the last 10 years.”

Elsewhere, Niall Horan and the rest of the band have beend told to behave by bosses eager to protect One Direction’s clean-cut image – as they receive a SEX BAN!

The band have been strictly told: “No girlfriends and definitely no sex!”

Speaking with The Sun, a source close to Niall revealed: “He’s raging about it — all the lads are. Four of them are single and they’ve been told to stay that way as it appeals to their American teen fans. Niall is fighting off the women with his Irish accent and good looks so he’s having to live like a monk.”

Liam and Louis are the only members with girlfriends at the moment, so it looks like they’ll be the only ones enjoying intimate moments together, whilst the rest live the life of a nun!

One Direction made an appearance in Montreal, Canada, and many fans who had waited outside all night to see them were treated for hypothermia, with the temperature reaching nearly -10 early on Tuesday morning.

Thousands of screaming fans braved the night air – with many skipping school to catch a glimpse of their idols who were making their very first appearance in Montreal.

Elsewhere, Olly Murs has been confirmed as one of the support acts on 1D’s forthcoming headline US tour.

Olly took to Twitter to say: “I can confirm I am joining @onedirection on their US tour from 29th May as special guest. Columbia US releasing HSAB in the summer!!”

Olly is due to start work on his third album next month.

1D’s worldwide smash song “What Makes You Beautiful” is to be featured on Glee in a forthcoming show to be aired next month in the States, and also broadcast in the UK on Sky 1 HD.

Speaking with The Sun, Matthew Morrision, the actor who plays Will Schuester, will be covering the song, and he said: “I’ve just heard of them, they’re really taking over the States. We are covering one of their songs on Glee — What Makes You Beautiful. I need to YouTube it to practise.”

The Glee coup should make One Direction even bigger than they already are, as it will be viewed all over the world. Glee is currently in the middle of it’s third series after making its debut in 2009.

Matthew added: “They’ve made it now though, they’re on Glee! This will probably help their record sales too.”

The single is currently number 19 in the US Billboard charts, and any Glee appearance would surely catapult the song even higher.

We can’t wait to see it!

“YOU DON’T KNOW YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!”

Caroline Flack received death threats last year, and only last month Danielle Peazer was the subject of vicious Twitter taunts.

Now it seems it’s the turn of Harry Styles’ mum, Anne Cox to take the role of victim.

A user with the Twitter name of “1D are a sh*t” told Anne: “I hope you’ll die because you are a bitch’ and also wrote ‘Harry’s mum has big boobs and a big bottom she looks like a bitch.”

Anne held her calm however, and casually replied back: “I hope you find inner peace someday.”

A further text was sent afterwards from the bully, saying: “Harry’s mum has big boobs and a big bottom she looks like a b*tch.”

Not the sort of language we like to hear, particularly.

Elsewhere, Niall Horan’s dad has admitted he’s worried about how his son will cope if One Direction were ever to fall off their current perch (as world dominating superheroes!).

Speaking with The Mirror, he said: “The only thing I’m worried about is hopefully it’ll be a long period being at the top.”

Adding further:

“The comedown from that I’m a little bit worried about. It’s always at the back of my mind. You’re up there on a high but it’s a big drop after that. But he seems to be coping with everything brilliantly – a lot better than I would.”

Nothing to worry about Mr Horan, at least not for a while! (And then they’ll reform again ala Take That and become even massiver!)

Harry Styles texts his Mum up to five times a day

Sources have told the Daily Star that our Hazza has been missing his beloved Mum whilst over in the big pond, saying: “Harry’s been really badly missing home and told his mum he is especially missing cooking for his family.

“Being in the kitchen is his main way of relaxing and escaping stress – with Mexican food his speciality – and he’s started getting withdrawals on the road.”

Each day, despite a gruelling schedule of non-stop touring, interviewing, photo-shoots and fending off thousands of screaming girls, Harry still manages to rattle off up to five texts per day to Mummy.

Liam runs out of boxers, and forgets his lyrics

Speaking with Radio 96, Liam told that he once completely forgot the lyrics to their version of “Chasing Cars” whilst on the bands second ever concert, but managed to get away with it by pretending his microphone wasn’t working. Tut, tut, naughty Liam!

Giving his tip away, Liam said: “If anyone forgets the words just tap the mic a few times!”

As well forgetting lyrics, it seems he also forgets his boxers sometimes, as he told We Love Pop magazine: “The thing is about this career is you’ll run out of boxers and be like, ‘I thought I had enough!’”.

Louis added: “I don’t care what any lad our age says. There’s no way they’ve gone through their entire life without wearing the same boxers two days in a row.”

Eeew!

Simon Cowell can’t sleep

Simon apparently told Louis Tomlinson that he’s struggling to get to sleep at night because he’s ecstatic at the impact 1D are having over in America.

Louis said: “He’s really, really excited by the reaction we’ve had out here and has said he’s not sleeping properly ‘cos he keeps thinking about us and how it’s going. He’s far too excited to sleep.”

The love for One Direction is just growing and growing, and on Saturday a few hundred Directioners turned up for a kick-ass flash mob in LA. This looks more like a professional concert with all the choreographed moves. We’re impressed!

The flash mob was organised by@1DFlashMobLA on Twitter, and even Harry Styles congratuled them for putting it all together.

Watch them dance to four songs, Up All Night, Another World, Na Na Na and What Makes You Beautiful. Well done to all involved!

Elsewhere, the boys have climbed further up the charts in Australia, even managing to outsell Adele! Their album “Up All Night” is currently number two in the Aussie album charts, jumping up three spots from number five.

1D are soon to fly down under for a brief tour, as well as appearing on the Logie Awards.

Yesterday the new kings of America, One Direction, played a sell-out gig at the Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Dallas, where fans were treated to a four-song concert as well as a signing session.

Thousands of dedicated Directioners turned up to witness the boys live in the flesh, on a glorious day in Texas.

It seems like they’ve been over in the USA FOREVER, so here at OneDirection.net we feel like its our job to bring you as many videos of them as possible.

Tickets for One Direction’s North American concerts went on sale yesterday for their upcoming tour, and quickly sold-out as thousands and thousand of fans tried their very best to get their hands on some.

Extra dates were added to help cope with demand, taking the total number of gigs to 24, but many fans missed out on tickets, and a lot of the websites struggled to cope with the huge burst of traffic.

The bands first gig is on March 24th at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, before they perform last at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale.

There are tickets still available on some of the after-sales websites such as SuperStar Tickets, though you’ll have to pay more for them.

Also yesterday, more than 7,000 fans turned up at the Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco to see 1D perform a mini-concert and signing.

Extra security was called in as well as an enforced police, fire and stadium presence.

The crowd erupted once the band appeared, and 1D performed four songs, before 2,000 fans got the chance to meet each member afterwards.

After the chaotic scenes two weeks ago at the Stonebria Centre Mall, this event passed smoothly without any hiccups.

We often like to read fan comments on videos, and we particularly like this one by Patiee23: “It’s a one direction video, why on earth would it be a dislike button”.

Lol, nothing was ever truer!

Gary Barlow is the man given the task of putting together the performers for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert – one of the most prestigious events of the year.

Currently the event, to be held on June 4th, comprises of Sir Elton John, JLS, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney amongst others, but there is no sign of One Direction, yet.

Speaking with the Daily Mirror, an insider said: “Obviously Gary has close connections with Simon Cowell and The X Factor, and is keen to get One Direction signed up. A few things need to be moved around but hopefully the boys will be signed up by the end of the month.”

Hazza Styles said they would love to be asked to perform at the gig, saying: “I’d love to meet Her Royal Highness. And I grew up listening to the Beatles ’cos my dad used to play them over and over again. I still listen to them now. They’re quite an inspiration.”

Harry went on to say: “It’d be amazing if Paul McCartney was up for doing something… I love him. That would be incredible. We’ve got a lot of big plans but I’m sure anything would be struck out of the diary if an invitation came along.”

The event will be held in front of Buckingham Palace in front of the Queen Victoria memorial, and Gary Barlow is doing his best to ensure the event is as spectacular as it can be.

His admiration for One Direction is obvious to see, and recently he tweeted: “Another big congrats to @onedirection on their US success.America loving our boy bands.Maybe I’ll get me cycling shorts back on!! #ornot”.

As well as the success of the album “Up All Night”, the single “What Makes You Beautiful” is now expected to make an entry in the Billboard Hot 100. Well we do need to break The Wanted’s record don’t we!

His shock at the instant USA success was exaggerated by them being told it would take years of touring to crack the country, and he said: “Our tour manager told us it would take three years of hard graft to do well in America… so for it to have taken off as it has is incredible.”

So, the next series of Britain’s Got Talent kicks off this Saturday evening, and the huge success that both One Direction and The Wanted are having overseas is inspiring new boybands to audition on the latest reality TV series.

Ant and Dec spoke about the forthcoming series: “We’ve had some really good bands, and boybands as well, which are great for BGT as they rarely audition.”

Dec added: “There’s been some very good singers and musicians.”

Boybands have never really featured that much on BGT, so perhaps this year might be different, and we’ve got 1D to thank!

Hmmm, we hope the noobs are good!

Elsewhere, Niall Horan has revealed that he prefers the natural look in a girl.

Responding to a fan’s tweet, he said: “Well I like a girl who don’t wear make-up.”.

Ok, 1…2…3… everybody sing: “Don’t need make up, To cover up, Being the way that you are is e-noo-ooo-ooghh!”

They’ve done it! Wooo hoooo!

One Direction have today made history, becoming the first UK group EVER to go straight to number one on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Their album “Up All Night” has already dominated the iTunes chart for the last week, and now the official listing have been updated they find themselves top of the pops.

At this stage in their career, the accolade marks them as more successful than any British group since records began. More successful than THE BEATLES even.

We still can’t quite catch our breath.

Here at OneDirection.net we’ve supported the boys since day one so we like to think we’ve played our part in their success, but it’s you, the hardcore Directioners who 1D should be truly thanking! Aww, we’re all one big happy gang!

1D’s official Twitter sent the following message: “Congratulations to One Direction for coming in at #1 on the U.S. @billboard charts. Thank you to all who’ve been there from day one. 1DHQ X”.

In landing at the top spot, the cutesy Brit superstars knocked Adele off her comfortable perch, shifting a staggering 176,000 copies. Even when the album was released here in the UK it only reached number two, so the better than expected USA triumph comes as a welcome surprise.

Music Week magazine correspondent Paul Williams spoke about the charting:

“It’s more than unusual, it’s unprecedented. Simon Cowell has a hell of a lot to do with it.”.�

Mr Williams also thinks that Simon Cowell needs to take a lot of pride in this acheivement, saying:

“He is one of the most famous people on TV in America and he’s been associated with Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle, both of whom have had number one albums in America, so he has a lot of influence.”

Few bands have been working harder than One Direction have over the past few months, and it seems that the constant touring, interviews and flying are taking their toll.

Harry Styles told the Daily Mirror that he has a sore throat, saying: “I get ill all the time – it’s all the travelling and long distance flights. Four of us had to have vitamin jabs because we were run down. I had mine in my bum. I do get homesick, too.”

Fresh from gigging with Big Time Rush, appearing on US TV, and giving constant radio interviews, Niall Horan agreed with Harry, saying: “This is the longest we’ve ever been away from home and it’s hard. We miss our families, we miss our friends. We get homesick, massively so.”

Liam Payne, totally aware how lucky they are to be in such a position, said: “But I know how incredibly lucky I am, how privileged I am to be doing this. It is all massively exciting. I would never want to sound ungrateful to anyone, especially to the fans.”

But he also echoed the other band members comments as he admitted he was homesick, stating: “There’s a part of me that occasionally wants to go back to Wolverhampton and just chill out, play the field, be normal again. Just chill out…”

Put your feet up lads and relax for a week or two. You’ve certainly earned it.

Little over a year ago you were unheard of on US shores, and now you’re the biggest boyband in the UNIVERSE!

Ryan is the big-time American TV presenter, famous for American Idol amongst many other gigs, and One Direction spoke live on his radio show yesterday, being asked lots of juicy questions.

The boys are currently riding high in the USA iTunes charts, with both editions of their album in the top three, and “What Makes You Beautiful” at number five. America can’t get enough of 1D!

“Three of us are single. Liam and Louis have girlfriends, but for the purpose of this interview they don’t!”

How Did You Build Up Your Chemistry?
Niall said“We all went to Harry’s house and we all spent a week getting to know each other to make sure we were all friends before we were band mates. We were playing soccer all the time and just jamming on the guitar…we all get along really well, and even when we’re not at work we all spend time together and we all live next to each other.”
