#TeamGB should be so proud of Tom Daley’s efforts at the Olympics over recent days, but he has unfortunately been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

A malicious and cruel twitter user untactfully tweeted to Daley, saying:

“You let your dad down I hope you know that”

Daley’s father, a big supporter of the diver, died of cancer last year. There has been an outpouring of support for Daley and we are pleased to tell you that Liam and Louis were amongst those showing compassion.

Liam Tweeted:

“@TomDaley1994 ignore them dikheads mate we all sat and watched you today and we thought u did incredible.”

Louis had pre-empted the controversy, tweeting before the twitter troll, thus:

“Sat watching @tomdaley1994 ‘s doc on BBC. Very moving, seems a great guy!”

We knew that all the boys are total sweethearts and it’s great that they are showing some twitter love to a British sporting star. They are down-to-earth and stay true to their British roots.

You all should spread some LOVE too and show these twitter haters to jog on!

Zayn and Perrie are totally in love with each other. They have been immortalised as ‘Zerrie’ and are amongst a host of intra-pop world couples. Haters gonna hate, but they are a very, very attractive pairing!

Jesy Nelson, a band member of Little Mix spilled the adorable beans on Perrie and Zayn’s very public relationship.

Talking to We Love Pop, she said:

“They’re so cute together.’� Zayn worships the ground she walks on. The other day she got out of the car to see him and he was outside within seconds kissing her.”

She added:

“They’re really good with the long distance thing as well. I can definitely see them lasting. He loves her to pieces.”

Listen, as you can hear the distant sound of a thousand girls “naww-ing” at this Earth shattering cuteness. Either that or they are hissing at Perrie stealing their man!

But we love that their young love is going from strength to strength, especially considering the long distance factor!

In related news, Perrie has been talking to Fabulous magazine about the infamous kissing photos that were published a couple of months back.

Perrie said:

“Please don’t talk about those awful photos! When I saw them in the paper I felt like being sick because I wish I’d got my roots done.”

Please, Please, Please – 1DLM collaboration!

The rivalry between both bands has gained noteriety this year since The Wanted charted first in the US with their hit single ‘Glad You Came’, but has calmed down over recent weeks.

Now One Direction have stoked the fires again by poking fun at their other half in a visit to a pound shop in England.

Liam and Louis visited the store and were followed by a TV crew for the day. The boys also stopped off at Starbucks for a quick cuppa and a snack.

Wherever they went, they were followed by tons of girls desperate to catch a sight (or a touch) of them, and good old Paul and the rest of the security team flanked them at all times.

Liam and Louis were taking a break from recording their new album.

Oh please make this happen – it would be just about the BEST THING EVER.

(After Bieber and 1D collaborating on a single or two, that is).

The all-conquering Adele is currently favourite to record the lead track for the next Bond movie, but One Direction are reportedly keen to lend their talents.

The Metro asked the band about their chances, and they answered: “Duran Duran did it, so it could be a group.”

The movie, entitled ‘Skyfall’ is due to be released on October 26th, and marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary Bond series.

Ooh doesn’t it give you goosebumps!

He is already a firm favourite with British fans, but Olly Murs has taken on the daunting task of cracking the American market, with the help of One Direction of course!

Murs had recently been the supporting act on the US leg of the ‘Up All Night’ tour and he was pleasantly surprised with how well he was embraced by US Directioners.

Speaking to MTV news, the Heart Skips A Beat singer said:

“It’s brilliant. It wasn’t hard. One Direction’s fans, they literally found out I was supporting them, they went online, found out who I was, what songs I’ve done, my videos and then I walked out [at the] first gig in Detroit [and] everyone’s just crazy. And I was like, ‘This is insane. They don’t even know who I am. How could they be doing this?”

It just shows what a difference online media can make to someone’s career, even across the pond.

Shout-out to American Directioners who made Olly feel so welcome, give yourselves a pat on the back!

The opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics was watched by BILLIONS of people all over the world, and was a zany, fun and spectactular affair.

Which was your favourite bit?

The ‘One Thing’ singers have been rumoured to be appearing at the closing ceremony for the last couple of months now, and it seems that rumour is getting closer to reality.

The Mirror yesterday confirmed that One Direction WILL be appearing at the ceremony along with chum Ed Sheeran and other big UK acts Take That, Queen, The Who and also the Spice Girls.

We can’t wait!

We think it’s a sure-fire bet that they’ll sing ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, and it will be great to see them on the same stage as Ed – who famously wrote fan favourite ‘Moments’, as well as penning more tracks for their new album.

Niall has been busy on his guitar as he revealed he’ll be plucking away on some new songs. Doesn’t he look GAWJUS…

Louis will be playing the tambourine, Harry will be playing the ukelele, and Zain will be playing the saxo-mo-phone.

We made the last paragraph up.

Does everyone remember when we were without Twitter on Thursday and it was impossible to see what celebrities were up to, what hilarious hashtags were trending or any other insignificant tweets to entertain us?

Well at about the same time, Niall Horan had planned to have a twitcam session that would be available to his over 5 million followers. Niall promised the twitcam after he hopped in the shower – that alone might have had some hearts skipping a beat.

Although Twitter denied to the Sun that it was Horan’s influence on the crash – instead suggesting a worldwide power outage – they cannot deny the traffic that would have been generated at the time. A twitcam session sadly didn’t happen, but Niall took to twitter when it had recovered, to apologize to fans.

“sorry about the twitcam! i just wanted to let you know whats been happening!”

We need more twitcams! They’re always hilarious and we love to see boys just chilling out, albeit slightly media trained!

Can you imagine if all five members of 1D tweeted their twitcam plans at once? The world would CRUMBLE!

In the latest internet reports, 17-year-old model Alahna Aldridge has started dating Irish heartthrob Niall, only a few months after allegedly seeing our Hazza!

Speaking with Radar Online, a source said:

“It’s a classic case of sloppy seconds – Harry dated Alahna first. Until January this year, Harry and Alahna were seeing one another but there was nothing serious going on.”

The source added:

“Then, just a few months later, Alahna became smitten with Niall and they have been dating ever since. Harry was a little put out at first – he was sweet on Alahna and he’s not used to losing out on a girl to another guy. It’s not as if Harry is short of female attention himself.”

Alahna interestingly is the half-sister of Caleb Followill’s other half Lily Aldridge. Caleb is the lead singer of Kings of Leon in case you didn’t know.

Isn’t it a small world?

Niall has been linked with a number of girls in recent months, though has denied he is seeing anyone.

Could Alahna be his secret girlfriend?

In today’s digital environment where illegal album downloads are easily done for free, platinum status of a single or album is a very impressive feat. Gone are the days when everyone had to buy CD’s to enjoy music, so it is very commendable that Sony Music has announced that ‘Up All Night’ has gone platinum in the US!

More good news though, as ‘Up All Night The Live Tour’ has gone triple platinum!

For album sales in the US, one million sales makes a record platinum. The most exciting thing though, is that ‘Up All Night’ is the first album released this year to hit the milestone. Heavyweight artists Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood and Madonna are trailing behind 1D, with their debut record still appearing in the Top 10 of the US iTunes chart.

The album continues to sell strongly around the world and total sales have been estimated to be 4 million. A great number taking all factors into account.

The tour DVD has been number one for 8 weeks and has sold over 200,000 copies, with many people buying if they missed the concert or to just relive the fun of the boys first tour!

Niall says: “I played Oliver in a school musical when I was 10″

Harry says: “A group of my friends at school were in a band and needed a singer, so then I joined.”

One Direction finished third on the 2010 series behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle, but there is no doubt they have had the most success since then.

Mullingar star Nialler was forced to pull out of a recording session this week when he lost his voice.

One Direction have been beavering away recording songs for their new album, but instead of joining in with the rest, Niall was told to stay in bed after falling sick.

Niall tweeted:

“Waking up with no voice! Nooo… Sick day today! Now off to sleep.”

He tweeted again later:

“Guys love you all soo much!”

“We been in the studio lately! We’re comin (sic) back with more music in the next couple of months! Get ready…”

In related news, Ed Sheeran again spoke about the songs he has given to 1D, whilst speaking to MTV:

“I wrote the three tracks that I gave [them] … when I was 17 and they were on my hard drive for a long time. And then I gave them one song for their last album, and they came back and said, ‘Do you have any more?’ and I said, ‘Here’s a whole load. Take your pick.”

Eek, excited we are!

Directioners will know them as the band that Perrie Edwards is in, and UK fans will know them as the current X Factor winners.

Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jesy and Jade have been seeing a lot of One Direction recently after appearing at the same British festivals last weekend, and it seems they’ve even heard a few of the new songs!

Speaking with Capital FM, Perrie said:

“I heard one. We heard a cheeky little song, but we’re not allowed to say anything. It’s brilliant. The fans will love it.”

Leigh-Anne also commented on whether we could see a collaboration between the two bands:

“I think it would be really interesting – a Little Mix and One Direction (song). Imagine what that would be like.”

Little Mix only this week released the full video to their first proper debut single ‘Wing’s.

Zayn and Perrie became an item earlier this year after hooking up at the X Factor live shows towards the end of last year.

Harry Styles was pictured with a hot blonde whilst he partied hard in London this week.

After enjoying a golf day thrown on by bosses Modest Management, Harry let his hair down at London bars Rose and Jalouse.

Harry and his blonde chum left the venues at 3.30am (on a school night!), and looked to have had a great night together as the pair were snapped by the waiting paparazzi.

Harry, we hope you know you’ve got a busy day of recording your new album! No tired eyes, right?

Elsewhere, UK reality TV star Sophie Anderton reportedly had her eye on Harry when she spotted him in a London nightclub.

Speaking with The Sun, a source said:

“As soon as Harry arrived she clocked him and headed in his direction. He said, ‘Hi’ but he was being polite to everyone. It looked like he didn’t know who she was.”

Miss Anderton tried in vain to get Hazza’s attention but it seemed he just wasn’t falling for her charms.

“Wherever he moved, she followed. If he went to one end of the club, she went after him. She eventually got the hint and settled down on a nearby table. It was uncomfortable to watch.”

Leave our Harry alone!

Anticipation is growing, as speculation on how One Direction’s second album will sound reaches fever pitch!

While suggestions of a team up with Justin Bieber seem to have cooled off, fellow label-mate Labrinth has emerged as a possible contender. Labrinth was signed by SyCo, Simon Cowell’s record label but was an interesting addition, as he was not discovered on Got Talent “or” X factor.

The rumours of the team up began when Niall spoke to Capital FM:

“We’d love to work with Labrinth. He’s super talented and it would be amazing”

We think the team up would be pretty phenomeNiall. With Zayn and Perrie forging a relationship, you never know we might see a Little Mix and One Direction collaboration too.

Niall continued chatter by discussing potential picks for the next single:

“We haven’t actually picked one [song] yet”

Louis added:

“We’re going to be picking it very soon, very soon. There’s two or three…there are about three songs that are all good contenders.”

Whatever is released, there’s no doubt it’s going to be a smash around the world. Huge. ENORMOUS EVEN. Even bigger than Harry’s list of ex girlfriends!

Poisoned? What?

Yep, rumours were doing the rounds on Twitter yesterday that Liam Payne had been poisoned and was in hospital receiving treatment.

Not to worry however, as girlfriend Danielle Payne has rubbished the rumours.

Danielle tweeted: “@TommoIsHot he’s not in hospital. He’s ok xx”

Liam let his fans know that everything was ok too by saying he was off to get something to eat, just after saying that he was going to follow a few people – lucky buggers!

Liam tweeted the following three messages:

“Sunny days make me happy ! Whats everyone up to?”

“Goin to do some following….”

“Ill be back on later to do some more following ! Need to get some dinner #imhungry”

Get well soon Liam (from your imaginary poisoning), umm, we mean please follow @1Direction_X!

It seems that Nialler isn’t the best of friends with the current US President, after breaking his arm at a BBQ!

Not to worry though, Niall isn’t the FBI’s worst enemy as the unfortunate victim was just a life-size version of Barack.

Niall was hosting a fun-packed barbecue on Tuesday night, and a source speaking with The Sun said:

“They got louder as the night went on. Music was being pumped out and in all the excitement Niall jumped on his Barack Obama model and its arm came off.”

Obama’s double was a birthday present from the rest of his One Direction bandmates. Aww, we want one!

In other Barack Obama news (we’ve never said that before!), there’s an awesome viral video thats doing the internet rounds.

Doesn’t he do a cracking job! How long till One Direction are invited to the Whitehouse?

Elsewhere it seems its all fun and games in the world of One Direction, as they enjoyed a golf day out, thrown on by Modest Management. Modest also look after Olly Murs and JLS, and it looks like they had a ball of a time together:

Liam is to cheer on more than sporting prowess at this year’s London Olympics, with his dancer girlfriend set to spend most of it in the company of ANOTHER guy.

Danielle is part of a dance troupe at the games that will entertain onlookers in between competitions. The routine has been put together by none other than Madonna’s choreographer Aicha McKenzie and judging from some of Madge’s more edgy sets…it doesn’t look like it will be easy viewing for Liam!

Apparently, Danielle has been training diligently for the performances and we’re sure she will be great.

However, a source talking to The Sun said:

“The dancers have been working as hard as the athletes while training for their Olympic performances. The dance routines are really energetic and at one point Danielle is thrown all around by one of the male dancers before she straddles him.� Liam might want to nip out for a drink at that point.”

Yeah, a drink or five might be the way to go Liam!

Anyway, Niall Horan has revealed a few more secrets about their forthcoming new album, and talking on ‘In Demand With Alex James’ about which song they want to release first, he said:

“We haven’t actually picked one [song] yet.”

Louis added:

“We’re going to be picking it very soon, very soon. There’s two or three…there are about three songs that are all good contenders.”

Pressed on whether the highly-rumoured colab with Justin Bieber would surfaced, Louis said:

“There’s actually been no talks between either of us. I think it’s a story the press has stirred up. We’d like to have a collaboration on the album, but who knows?”

We’ll take the “who knows” bit as confirmation then…

Justin Bieber and One Direction just has to happen. Record bosses, make it so!

Hot off the heels of album, single and live tour DVD success, the ‘Only Way is Up for One Direction’ with their new documentary trailer hitting the web in recent days, which can be viewed below:

From the looks of things the documentary will follow One Direction’s global chase for success, particularly their unprecedented conquest in America. Clips range from way back, to a more recent performance on the Today show, but it will surely make for great viewing!

Super fans will no doubt already be well versed in the story of the boys being formed, making it to 3rd place on the 2010 season of the “X factor” and the subsequent overnight explosion that shows no signs of slowing down.

Directioners can look forward to a condensed combination of your favourite performances, interview clips and commentary from celebrity colleagues as the story of everyone’s favourite boy band of the new millennium unfolds on screen.

We can’t wait to see how well this is produced and it will no doubt top DVD charts around the world, especially if it is tactically released in the lead up to the Christmas season.

Put it on your Santa lists now everyone!

This week is certainly one to remember, with One Direction not only celebrating wins at the teen choice awards, but also their stunning two year foray in the music industry. What better way to celebrate than looking back on some of their achievements in such a short period of time!

The Music

One Direction raced out of the X Factor and dove straight into recording their debut album, which lead to the release of ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ which entered the charts at the number one and became the infectious teen anthem that EVERYONE knows the words to.

Unfortunately, Rihanna kept the boys of top spot in the UK, but they became the first UK band to debut at number one on the US Billboard top 200 chart – and also went number one in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland…the list goes on!

The Fans

The boys first joined Twitter way back in 2010 when they were still contestants in a pool of very talented peers. Now, they have a combined Twitter following of over 20 million!

Directioners are some of the most dedicated fans out there and it’s great to see that 1D love their fans as much as they love the group!

Merch?

Along with successful music sales, One Direction has released books, phone covers, hoodies, shirts, wristbands, DVD’s and even dolls.

f there is something you need, then no doubt there is a 1D branded version of it out there somewhere! After an appearance on an Australian morning show, Niall’s half eaten vegemite toast allegedly went on eBay…it actually got some bids!

Louis’ mischievous behaviour is obviously rubbing off on Zayn, as the pair executed a hilarious prank on the other three boys by hiring an actress to play a heavily pregnant Nickelodeon producer.

But when she goes into ‘labour’ in the studio, its brilliant to see Liam, Niall and Harry panic over the apparent medical emergency.

It did start off quite sweet though, with the boys singing a lullaby to the unborn child. Suddenly though, the actress wails in pain and suggests the baby is on its way out. Of course, its nothing more than a Hollywood style fake bump.

Harry must be so embarrassed this morning! He fully believed they were going to welcome a child into the world. He even had her exercising the correct breaths.

Priceless!

Niall looked totally stunned as Liam quickly got on the phone for some help. We don’t know how Louis and Zayn kept a straight face throughout the whole thing, but it was fantastic to watch. That would certainly have been a great story for the press. One Direction delivers baby. Alone in a Nickelodeon studio.

We’re getting a little tired of all these Harry Styles stories in the press. The latest woman reported to have had romantic clinch with Harry is ITV reporter Caroline Whitmore.

Talking with The Sun, a source said:

“Harry was the only one of the boys to kiss her — and he did it twice. That started the rest of the boys teasing him in front of her saying things like, ‘Ooh — a kiss for Caroline. It wouldn’t be the first time’.”

“Harry tried to brush it off but the lads kept teasing them and making funny noises and dropping hints they were an item.”

After Caroline had interviewed Harry, she said:

“He was very sweet. He was the only one to kiss me and twice! He did blush.”

Thankfully though, Caroline took to Twitter to deny anything had happened, saying:

“Lovely lads but clearly I don’t mean that like todays utter rubbish.”

We never believed it anyway!

Can anyone name all the women that Harry has been linked with since being in One Direction? Start guessing below…

Sorry ladies, but a source has told heat magazine that Louis is “as serious as you can get” about his student girlfriend Eleanor Calder.

After getting Rihanna to sing her happy birthday, buying her a mini cooper car and the most elaborate disney cake we have ever seen, it goes without saying – they are deeply in love!

However recent rumours about the love birds being engaged have been quashed. This doesn’t mean they aren’t in a super serious relationship though. Apparently the jokester of the group gets on very well with Eleanor’s mum and is very cheeky to her.

Great way to get in the good books Louis!

The feeling is mutual as Eleanor is also very fond of Tomlinson’s mum. Dating someone who isn’t famous when you are the hottest thing right now must be tough, but at least they are making it work. It is also keeping Louis grounded which can only be a good thing!

One Direction, Taylor Swift and The Hunger Games were some of the big winners at last nights Teen Choice Awards.

One Direction took home three gongs for ‘Choice Summer Music Star Group’, ‘Choice Music Breakout Group’, and ‘Choice Love Song’.

Taylor Swift earned herself five awards, whilst The Hunger Games took home a massive SEVEN. 1D homeboy Justin Bieber also earned himself four awards.

The band filmed a thank-you video but were not able to attend the awards in person due to a weekend of concert appearances in the UK.

Liam, Zayn, Niall, Louis and Harry wowed audiences across the North of England in Liverpool and Manchester as well as appearing at Party In The Park in Leeds. Alyssa Reid was rumoured to have gotten Harry’s phone number.

The boys went down a storm at all three events, giving UK fans a long-awaited chance to ogle at the handsome bunch.

Harry, don’t you ever get tired of pulling women, like every single day of your life?

One Direction played at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday as part of Radio City Live, amongst a host of other popstars and bands.

Speaking backstage after the concert, Alyssa said of One Direction:

“Yes I have introduced myself… and I may or may not have got a phone number. But I never kiss and tell. I’m not telling you. I can’t tell. I would never go for a taken man, though, so he must be one of the single ones.”

The clever ones of you might guess that narrows it down to either Harry or Niall.

Alyssa met the boys on Saturday night, but was also due to catch up with them again on the Sunday, posting this:

“We’re doing another show tomorrow so maybe I’ll make a move on him then. I shouldn’t have told you but I would love to cook for him – asparagus-stuffed chicken breast with hollandaise sauce. That’s one way to get a man.”
