Get excited UK directioners, because your favourite lads are staging a takeover of multiple BBC Radio 1 shows on Saturday October 6th, literally for the whole day!
Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry will be making shoutouts, taking calls and causing a ruckus when they pair up with existing radio hosts from 8am to 6pm.
The lineup is below:
- 8-10am: Gemma Cairney & Liam Payne
- 10am-12pm: Nick Grimshaw & Harry Styles
- 12-2pm: Scott Mills & Zayn Malik
- 2-4pm: Huw Stephens & Niall Horan
- 4-6pm: Greg James & Louis Tomlinson
Unsurprisingly, besties Nick Grimshaw and Harry Styles will be pairing up for what will surely be 2 hours of laughs and mischief!
The whole point of the 1D additions are to honour and recognise the stations “Teen Awards” which will be taking place on the 7th of October.
What’s more fun and challenging for the lads, is that they will have to come up with their own content and produce their own shows for each of their slots. It’s 2 hours each to fill and there is nothing worse than dead air on a radio station, so I hope each of them have some brilliant ideas.
Grimshaw said:
“They have to learn to produce and edit by next Saturday – if [my producer] Matt Fincham’s done it, Niall Horan can do it too.”
