Has LWWY Ripped Off “Should I Stay or Should I Go”?

Live While We’re Young is tearing up the VEVO views, and its catchy riff is going to be a hit around the world and be stuck in our heads just like What Makes You Beautiful did last year.

But it looks like there are some striking similarities between the new track and a classic hit that was released before most Directioners were even born – because the beginning of the track sounds very, very familiar to The Clash’s 1981 smash hit, “Should I Stay or Should I Go”.

And we aren’t the first to hear the similarities. People have, unsurprisingly, taken to Twitter to express their feelings of what they feel is a blatant rip off.

“I do like @OneDirection but I can’t listen to their new song its just TheClash ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’, it really bothers me” one user tweeted.

“I wonder if The Clash have heard the start of this One Directionsong ??” another posted.

“So One Direction stole their new single from The Clash. Wow.” said another.

The irony here is, the opening riff of What Makes You Beautiful also had a striking resemblance to musical movie Grease’s “Summer Nights”. They both start off the same but as each song progresses, it becomes clear they are different.

We would like for you guys to listen to LWWY and SISOSIG (ooh sisosig, thats pretty cool) back-to-back and give us your opinion below.

I have to admit they are pretty similar but the clash one is a bit different like maybe a different guitar
