Chapter 19 - Talent Show

 

After dinner, we decided to go to room 435 again. We chilled for a while, watching TV before Harry decided to put up an stupidly embarrassing idea.

"Let's have a talent contest!" he yelled. Most of us were clearly annoyed with the idea, but the boys saw it as a chance to beat the girls.

"So what type of contest do you want?" asked Zayn, redoing his hair in a mirror.

"Anything, as long as it doesn't destroy the room, cause havoc or makes mum come in to ask what's going on," said Louis.

"So who're the judges?" asked George.

"Me and Louis of course," said Harry. "But for the last person, I don't know who."

"Hm..." Louis and Harry were thinking, before there was a knock on the door. Niall opened the door, revealing Mum.

"Mum!" Harry shouted. Mum was surprised at Harry's outburst.

"Harry? What's wrong?" she asked frantically.

"Do you want to be the third judge in our talent contest?" he asked in a sing-song voice.

"Me? If you want, hun." You could clearly tell she was shocked yet pleased.

 

I was wearing an expression of surprise and worry, since I didn't know what I could do. I wanted to do something different. Daniel and most of the girls had teamed up for some sort of singing group, and there were three other teams, Leyer, Juliet and George in a magic show, Jordan in a solo, the rest of the boys were doing some tricks. I rejected the offer of being in the singing group, so sat and thought for a minute. Aha!

 

"First we have... The Magicians!" Louis called.

George and Leyer first did an interesting trick with a coke can, then managed to make Juliet disappear in an ordinary closet. Harry and Mum were definitely surprised at this, but Louis was trying to be the "Simon Cowell" of the group.

"I think this could be... okay, but it needs more tricks." Louis dismissed them immediately.

 

"Next, we have... Trickeries!" called Harry.

Niall, Zayn and Liam tried making fun of each other, and did a comedy sequence, which made us all laugh really hard. Louis and Harry were banging their fists on the table, while Mum was trying not to laugh, but failing anyway.

Mum wiped a tear from her eye. "This is probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen!"

 

"Now it's the White-Water Horses! Featuring Dave the Rapper!" Louis was reading this out with some strange look on his face, like he was being strangled.

The girls sing Olly Murs' Troublemaker beautifully, as 'Dave' aka Daniel, rapped perfectly. The only problem was that Louis started becoming a 'Simon Cowell' again.

"Hm... It was okay, just the girls need to be a bit more rehearsed, but they'll never be as good as One Direction!" he said triumphantly. This caused an uproar which had to be calmed down by the rest of us.

 

In the end, we were left laughing at the entire argument as it died down.

Now, I hope I'm not next.
