One Direction’s new album is due for release later this year, and English indie rock band Scouting For Girls have revealed that they’ve written a song for it.
The song, which has not yet been heard, has made the shortlist for their third album.
One Direction have previously revealed that the new album will be ‘rockier’ and ‘edgier’ than usual, so Scouting For Girls definitely fit the bill.
Scouting For Girls frontman Roy Stride, who wrote ‘Stand Up’ for 1D’s first album, ‘Up All Night’, has spoke to Digital Spy about his second 1D-songwriting-venture.
He said: “To get on a One Direction album – every single songwriter in the world wants to get on it – you’ve just got to write an absolutely amazing song. I don’t think about who it’s for, I’ve just got to write something that is amazing.”
He also explained just how writing songs for One Direction came about: “I used to think, ‘Ah, let’s write a song for a boyband,’ whereas now I’ve just realised you’ve got to write a f**king good song.”
Oooh, sounds like it must be pretty damn good then!
Their new album is rumoured to be released at the end of the year, and is said to have songs written by McFly and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder.
