One Direction have played the first of four gigs in Australia, with the first one kicking off earlier today in Sydney.
Despite only arriving in Oz this Tuesday, the boys have been pictured surfing, spottted out clubbing, and also out on the hunt for Rihanna of all people!

With their debut album “Up All Night” currently at number one in the Australian charts, and the tickets for these gigs selling out in minutes – these boys are certainly the flavour of the month – and it looks like they’ll stay that way.
Here’s a couple of early reviews for you.
At Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion the British-Irish boy band made its official Australian debut with two shows, at which the decibel level out on the floor was a match for the voices coming off stage. Harry, Louis, Niall, Liam and Zayn, who in just nine months since the release of their first single What Makes You Beautiful have become a global phenomenon, got an ecstatic reaction last night from a predominantly early-teenage female crowd. “This has to be the loudest audience we’ve ever had,” said singer Harry Styles early on, making them louder. Despite minimal production values – the recent SNL performers were only supported by a four-piece band and one large screen – the show was tightly orchestrated and cleverly constructed. For example, the setlist was broken into three segments, each representing a different season. A beach-theme projection heralded the One Direction Summer experience, which was soundtracked by a medley of covers. Zayn kicked things off with a breezy cover of Black Eyed Peas’ party anthem “I Gotta Feeling”, while Niall settled on Gym Class Heroes’ “Stereo Hearts”.
