There’s little over a month to go before 1D hit American shores, kicking off their smash-hit ‘Take Me Home Tour’ with two concerts in Foro Sol, Mexico City, before heading north to Florida.
The US & Mexico tour has been long-awaited, and the last time that One Direction played a concert in the US was last December with their date at Madison Square Garden in New York – which went down a storm!
Anyhow, to maximise security, the band have enlisted super-tough ex-Marines and secret service agents who have previously guarded President Barack Obama.
Speaking to the Daily Star, a source said:
“They will be protected by some of the best security personnel America has to offer. There is significant concern that the group will be greeted by mobs of thousands of girls, which is too much for the normal team to handle.”
Recent appearances by the band at venues across Europe have seen hundreds of fans excitedly try to get a glimpse of their heroes, and management are concerned that things will be on a far greater scale in the US.
Can’t have our boys getting hurt or injured from over-enthusiastic Directioners can we?
The bodyguards set to protect One Direction have also had experience in Iraq, and another source told The Sun:
“Liam becoming single has made things even more fraught. Some of the security staff have worked with Obama and in war zones.”
That’s right Liam, if anything does happen then it’s all your fault for finishing with Danielle. LOL.
