Simon is like the big friendly Uncle for One Direction, keeping his distance but always having an eye on what they get up to – and stepping in if he thinks they’ve gone a step too far.
Speaking with the Sunday People, Simon Cowell said:
“He doesn’t hang around, Harry, so yes, I’m impressed. I don’t worry about the One Direction lads. Having a few girlfriends is totally fine.”‘
The X Factor supremo isn’t concerned one little bit by what the boys get up, and thinks they’re doing a great job of looking after themselves.
Simon said:
“If there are ever any issues then we deal with it quietly as friends.”
Mr Cowell added:
“I said to them: ‘Don’t treat it as work because it’s fun, then you will have the best time of your lives.’ I don’t believe in telling the guys what they can and can’t do.”
Speaking about their liking for tattoos – and mostly Harry and Zayn, Simon carried on:
“But having a couple of tattoos and a couple of girlfriends isn’t a problem.”
We’ve got a lot to thank Simon Cowell for, after all it was him (oh yeh and Nicole Scherzinger) who put the band together during the 2010 series of UK X Factor.
